Film Festival Rules

All you need to do to enter the festival is put together a short film that fits into one of the following five categories:
Categories
1. Drama
Any movie that tells a fictional story. This category might include such movie types as action, disaster, horror, science fiction, detective, romance or adventure.2. Comedy
A film whose main purpose is to be funny, to make people laugh. They might feature several different film genres, but primarily use humor as the driving force. Such genres could be action comedy, adventure comedy, comedy-drama, comedy documentary, parody films, and comedy horror.3. Documentary/PSA
Documentaries are non-fiction movies about a real-life person, event, your community or culture, personal experience, or even yourself! Storytelling, jouranlism, and opinions are important in creating your documentary film. Public Service Announcements are intended more to educate, advocate and raise awareness about a specific topic or social issue of public interest.4. Animation
All forms of animation are accepted in this category including (but not limited to) hand drawn, motion graphics, and stop motion.5. Music Video
Make a video to accompany a piece of music - a song, classical work, theme tune or even an original composition! Think creatively - the video could help to tell a story, view the piece in a different light, or lip-sync like you're on MTV!Age Groups
You can enter individually or with a group of friends, and will be judged among other entrants in the same age group. You can make movies with as many friends as you like - however, only 6 students total can be officially recognized and included in the entry submission. Class Produced entries should be submitted the same way - by either entering the students names, or if more than 6, a single name for the group will suffice.
There are three age groups: Grades K-4, Grades 5-8, and Grades 9-12.Submit Your Film
Upload your completed movie(s) to any online cloud storage platform (Google Drive, iCloud, Dropbox, etc.) or video sharing service (YouTube, Vimeo, etc) and fill out the online entry form from this website by midnight on March 24. Only enter films that were created between June 2023 and March 2024. You can enter as many different films as you like, but each film can only be entered once, in one category.
