• The band program begins at the intermediate school level in the sixth grade, and students have the opportunity to continue through the twelfth grade. Beginning classes focus on the development of correct musical and performance skills. In most cases, students are divided in "like-instrument" classes. In addition to further development of their basic fundamental skills, these bands offer a variety of performance opportunities including concerts, pep rallies, football games and UIL contests. Students are encouraged to participate in individual events such as Solo & Ensemble Contest All-Region, Area, and State Auditions.
