Certified Nurse Assistant Program

The Practicum in Health Science C.N.A. Program is designed to give students practical application of studied knowledge and skills to become Certified Nurse Assistants. This program provides 60 classroom hours of training with skills and 40 hours of hands-on skills at the nursing home. The student completes the program by a written and skills test with TDADS (Texas Dept. of Aging and Disability) and Pearson VUE at a testing site. Once certified, the student will be able to work in a healthcare facility.

Practicum in C.N.A. I & II

Kali Richards is the Director and Instructor of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program at KCAL and has been teaching in the program since 2018. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2009 and went on to work as a Registered Nursing (RN) in the Operating Room at Texas Health Fort Worth for 6 years and as an RN Outpatient Waiver Case Manager for 2 years at University Medical Center in Lubbock, TX, prior to teaching in the CNA program at KCAL. Ms. Richards is passionate about teaching, encouraging, and supporting her students as they grow and find their passion. In her spare time, Ms. Richards enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, watching movies, and exploring the great outdoors.
