Three Keller ISD Teachers Earn National Board Certification

Keller ISD is excited to announce that three of its educators have achieved National Board Certification.

National Board Certification is one the most respected professional certifications available in education, providing numerous benefits to teachers, students and schools. Earning the certification is the culmination of a two-year process that included content exams, video analysis of their teaching, reviewing student learning artifacts, and consideration of a professional portfolio.

Congratulations to the following Keller ISD teachers who earned this certification this year:

Meagan McDaniel (Ridgeview Elementary)
Donna McDaniel (Keller High)
La’Toya Haley Haynes (Special Education: BES, NRES, HES, SGES)

The National Board Certified program was designed to develop, retain and recognize accomplished teachers and to generate ongoing improvement in schools nationwide. All three of Keller ISD’s National Board Certified teachers worked with Keller ISD’s own National Board Certification Cohort led by Coordinator of Professional Learning Valerie Minor.

“To see Meagan, Donna and La’Toya achieve this certification is a career highlight for me,” Minor said. “They have worked tirelessly on completing these components and I am honored that they trusted me to help guide them through the process. Most importantly, the learning and growth that they have experienced throughout this experience is immeasurable and the ones who are benefitting are the students in their classrooms. I truly hope to see this program grow in Keller ISD with even more amazing teachers who want to participate in this personalized professional learning experience to continue to improve their teaching craft.”

Keller ISD has an additional 22 teachers who are also currently working toward earning National Board Certification.
