Ten Students Earn Chair Positions at TMEA Region 30 Jazz Band Competition

Ten KISD high school musicians earned chair positions at the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Region 30 Jazz Band competition.

Three of those musicians automatically advanced to the Area Round and auditioned last week for the opportunity to qualify for the TMEA All-State Jazz Band. The All-State Jazz Band is the most challenging organization to qualify for All-State. Less than 1% of students who begin the audition process ultimately become All-State Jazz Musicians.

Congratulations to the following students who qualified for the TMEA Region 30 Jazz Band (* represents students who qualified for the Area Round of auditions)
