Keller ISD Designated Best Communities for Music Education for Ninth Consecutive Year

For the ninth consecutive year, Keller ISD has been honored with the "Best Communities for Music Education" designation from The NAMM Foundation, for its outstanding commitment to music education. KISD is one of four percent of districts across the nation receiving the prestigious award in 2023.

"Keller ISD Fine Arts is honored to be named a Best Community for Music Education for the ninth year in a row," Keller ISD Fine Arts Director Kim Blann said. "This honor is not achieved without dedicated music educators, hard working student musicians, talented private music instructors, supportive parents and community members, as well as strong advocates in the KISD Board of Trustees and Administration. We are proud of this recognition, and even more proud to have earned it together, as a strong KISD Fine Arts community."

The Best Communities Music Education designation is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students. To qualify for the Best Communities designation, Keller ISD answered detailed questions about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, support for the music program, and community music-making programs. Responses were verified by school officials and reviewed by The Music Research Institute at the University of Kansas.

This award recognizes that Keller ISD is leading the way with music learning opportunities for all students!
