KISD Approves Principal Hires for CHS, TSMS

Keller ISD is excited to announce two new principal hires for the 2024-25 school year. 

Kathleen Eckert has been selected to serve as the next Principal at Central High School.

Headshot of Kathleen EckertShe is a familiar face to the Central Chargers community, having served as the Principal at Hillwood Middle School for 10 years from 2012-22. Eckert is returning to Keller ISD after serving as the Director of Compliance and Policy at Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD. She began her teaching career in Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD before holding administrative positions in both Fort Worth ISD and Northwest ISD.

“Mrs. Eckert’s servant leadership style creates a positive school culture that sets a foundation of success for students, staff, and families,” said Assistant Superintendent Dr. Leanne Shivers. “We are excited to welcome her back to the Charger Nation.”  

Eckert holds a Master of Education in Educational Administration and a Bachelor of Arts, both from the University of North Texas.  

Alicia Morton has been chosen as the next Principal at Trinity Springs Middle School. 

Headshot of Alicia MortonMorton has served as the Academic Dean at Fossil Ridge High School since 2021, and has been an administrator at the school since 2017. Prior to her current role, she served as an Administrative Associate and later as an Assistant Principal. Morton began her teaching career as a math teacher in Carroll ISD and later taught in Northwest ISD.   

“Mrs. Morton fosters a collaborative environment that benefits the students, parents, and entire school community,” said Assistant Superintendent Lindsay Moncrief. “She is very methodical in her thinking, which ensures that every step taken is in the best interest of the campus and its students, reflecting a deep commitment to educational excellence.”  

Morton holds a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Lamar University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of North Texas.  

The KISD Board of Trustees officially approved both of these hires at Thursday evening’s Regular Board Meeting. Eckert and Morton will begin their new roles in July.
