NRES Counselor

  • Kristina Mugg, school counselor

Hello!  My name is Kristina Mugg.  I am one of the school counselors here at North Riverside Elementary.  I have the joy of working with students through classroom guidance lessons, small group counseling, and short-term individual counseling.  I also work with parents who may need support and guidance on how to help their child.

When I’m not at school, I’m usually with my family.  I have two amazing boys who are in 11th grade & 8th grade as well as a fantastic husband of 19 years!  My oldest son is a part of the Keller High School Marching Band.  In the fall, I spend a lot of time chaperoning and attending football games and competitions.  It’s so much fun to watch him on the field!  My 8th grader is a part of the ISMS Band.  I know that my future is going to be extremely full once he moves up to high school and joins the marching band!  For right now though, he is keeping me busy with driving him to private horn lessons.  Music is our life!

I’m excited to get to know all of our NRES Panthers and their families!  If there’s ever anything I can do for you or your student, please don’t hesitate to contact me: Kristina.mugg@kellerisd.net or 817-744-5312.

    Hello,

My name is Tina Thomas and I am the .5 School Counselor for NRES and Bluebonnet Elementary School. This is my first year as a counselor in the Keller district, but I am not totally new to Keller as I did do my counseling internship here under the guidance of Yvette Jennings and Lauren Brown. I taught high school English for 14 years--first in Oklahoma for 10 of those years and then here in Texas in the NWISD and Irving districts. I have been married for 13 years to my loving husband Jarrod Thomas, who is an Air Force veteran, and we are proud parents to five wonderful children ranging from 11 to 28. Our eldest son graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2016, second eldest son from Texas Tech in 2020, our third eldest son is serving(like his father) overseas in Japan in the

Air Force with his family, our eldest daughter is slated to graduate from Prairie View A&M this coming May, and our youngest daughter is attending Pike Middle school currently as a 6th grader. Away from school, I love to spend time with my family, which now includes two granddaughters born around the same time last year. I also like to watch movies, college football (go Sooners!), cook/bake, read on occasion, and attend church services. I am currently working on my second Masters degree through Angelo State University which I hope to complete in May of 2023. Though super busy with juggling all my responsibilities, I am super excited to be a part of the Keller district and look forward to a great school year.
