COMPUTER MAINTENANCE
Students develop computer literacy skills to adapt to emerging technologies used in the global marketplace, implement personal and interpersonal skills to prepare for a rapidly evolving workplace environment, as well as, enhance reading, writing, computing, communications, and reasoning skills and apply them to the information technology environment. Students acquire principles of computer maintenance, including electrical and electronic theory, computer hardware principles, and broad level components related to the installation, diagnosis, service, and repair of computer systems. Students develop knowledge of the concepts and skills related to telecommunications and data networking technologies and practices in order to apply them to personal or career development. Students develop computer literacy skills to adapt to emerging technologies used in the global marketplace. Students implement personal and interpersonal skills to prepare for a rapidly evolving workplace environment.
Students will be expected to:
· Utilize industry standard programs to enhance their learning experience, and further their knowledge.
· Exhibit professionalism and courtesy at all times.
· Attain industry standard certifications.
· Become proficient in the use of all lab equipment and usage of supplies.

Kristen Henderson teaches Computer Maintenance, Networking, and Practicum Networking Systems. She graduated from Keller High School and then received a B.A. from Texas Woman’s University and an M.S. from the University of North Texas. Mrs. Henderson worked as an instructional designer before returning to teaching.
